What’s trending on TikTok this month? - May 2022

06 May 2022

Is your For You page getting a bit boring? Are you struggling to keep up with the trends? We’ve got you! Each month we’ll keep you up to date with the top TikTok sounds/trends you need to skyrocket your business's video marketing strategy! Keep reading to learn more.

Laptop Presentation

This trend is oddly named but I’m sure you’ll have seen it on the For You page. Have a look at our great example!

It shows a different way of giving a “presentation”. Begin by giving your audience a sneak peek of what you're going to show, on the beats. Once the music starts, showcase a full montage of what it’s like to work at your business, the range of products you have on offer, or use this trend as a fun way to share a daily vlog. CapCut is a great free app you can use to edit this one together before sharing it on TikTok, here’s a handy tutorial to help...

Tiny Bee

We think this trend is hilarious and everyone seems to be using it! Use the "Tiny Bee" effect, and pair it with this audio. Next, include the on-screen text of something you’re going to do and no one can stop you from doing it. You can apply this trend to any niche! But remember the funnier, the better.

Here’s a funny example from a business…

Ah Duet

This trend is all about being smart. Who would have thought accidentally bumping against the corner of a bed could lead to a viral sound? It’s gained a ton of traction on the app, and the idea is to get creative, duet the creator and put your spin on it!

Even celebrities have been jumping on the trend. Check out Ant and Dec’s version of the Ah Duet trend: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLnnpMkD/

Wow Crazy

This simple sound is all about sarcasm! Use it to make an obvious statement, reflect on something you did in the past, or mention something that you think is bizarre. It’s simple but it can be really funny and effective for your brand or business.

Watch this example…

I take the ball, I bounce it, I shoot, I miss it

This trend is a great way of telling a simple story, and one with an unhappy ending. Self-deprecating humour is probably used best here. Just film yourself shooting a basketball and tell a story in 4 lines with the on-screen text. Don’t forget to set the duration of the text, so it's in time with the sound

Have a look at this example for clarity.
